BEN HASSINGER

YOUTH DIRECTOR

Ben has been a member at Providence since childhood. Ben will be graduating from York College of Pennsylvania in fall 2022 with his degree in criminal justice. Before being hired at Providence, Ben worked as a Direct Support Professional for 5 years assisting individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities with their everyday lives in the residential home setting. Along with working full time, Ben volunteered his time over the past 4 years running games, going on retreats and mission trips with the youth and planning events for the youth to enjoy at Providence. Ben and his wife Lauren recently married in October 2021. Lauren is active at Providence helping out with the sound booth Sunday mornings and with C.R.E.W on Sunday nights. Ben is looking forward to helping the youth group flourish by bringing his 12 years of coaching experience, at the age group and college level, as well as the valuable leadership skills he obtained both as his time as a program manager with Typical Life Corporation and with his time in the Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Ben plans to continue to be a voice for and strengthen his relationships with individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities by being on the forefront of showing the community Providence is a church where everyone is welcome and God perfectly created them to be here on this earth.
