8:30 AM Worship Service
We now have an early morning worship service on Sundays. The 8:30 service will provide another option for our members and community to attend worship.
Here is what the Sunday schedule is:
Morning: 8:30 - 10:00 Worship
9:00 - 10:00 Sunday School (children & 1 adult class)
10:00 - 10:30 Coffee
10:30 - 12:00 Worship
Worship services are now being live-streamed. If you know of someone who can’t make it on Sunday mornings, or if you’re out-of-town but don’t want to miss out, you’ll find the link on our Home page. See Patrick or Vince with questions.
New Community Group
A new community group will be starting up on Sunday, October 14th. This group will meet on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month from 6-8 PM here at Providence. All are welcome to join us!
Providence is excited to be hosting a missions conference the weekend of November 9th-11th! Several of our supported missionaries will be here and there will be events throughout the weekend that we hope you’ll attend. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks.
Weekly Craft Group
Ladies—Do you enjoy fellowship while working on a craft project? A group of women meet weekly on Tuesdays from 1-3 and the 2nd Tuesday evening of each month at 7:00, here at the church, and they welcome newcomers. Just bring that half-finished sweater or the scrapbook you’ve wanted to complete for years and join in the comradery. You do not need to be a member of our church to join us.
A prayer group meets at Providence Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM in Room 1. All are welcomed and encouraged to come and pray for individual needs, and the needs of our church, our community, and our nation.
The deacons would like to enlist the help of experienced painters in the congregation to "adopt" and paint a room in the church. Paint and other supplies will be provided, and paint colors will be selected by PPC's Decorating Committee. If you or your "team" would like to help spruce up the church facility, please contact the church office or one of the deacons.
Have you been wondering what to do with medical equipment your family is no longer using? Are you in need of a wheelchair or walker? United Cerebral Palsy of Central Pennsylvania has a reuse program called Changing Hands. Manual wheelchairs, shower seats and benches, over-bed tables, walker, canes, lift chairs, raised toilet seats and portable ramps are being accepted. Because of limited space they cannot accept hospital beds or stair glides. All items must be in good to excellent condition. Changing Hands will clean the items and make them available to people who need them. If you have questions about obtaining items or would like to arrange to drop off items at our Camp Hill location, please call 717-737-3477 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed. – Psalm 9:9
We invite you to join us for our third annual Voices conference on October 20th. This year we explore the forms of domestic abuse, the path to freedom from oppression, and the steps to regain your voice.
Sissy Hashley, our keynote speaker, is an abuse survivor and the Director of Refuge Ministries. Refuge Ministries is dedicated to helping families find healing from the effects of domestic abuse.
The cost for this one-day conference is $15 and includes breakfast and lunch. Scholarships and childcare are available upon request.

Ministry to Survivors of Domestic Abuse Information Session
We invite everyone to lunch following worship on October 21st, at which time we will talk about Providence’s ministry to survivors of domestic abuse. This is very important work, and we value your support and interest. Pizza will be provided and we ask you to bring along a salad or dessert if you’d like to join us.
An important element of our goal to come alongside of survivors of domestic abuse is Refuge Ministries, a weekly support group. We are currently holding a class for male survivors, and we plan to kick off our first women’s group in early November. Do you know someone who would benefit from participating in this weekly support group? Please see Vince or Karen for more information.
We are excited to be offering two Bible studies for women this fall, one which meets during the day and the other in the evening. Pick the one that works best for you, or come to both!
The daytime group meets weekly on Thursdays from 9:15-11:00 AM. They are using Courtney Doctor’s study, From Garden to Glory. See Shannon Hawk with questions.
The Friday evening group meets weekly from 7-8:30 PM and is studying NavPress’ LifeChange series, The Book of Ephesians. They would love to have you join them! Contact Kathy Hassinger with questions.
Women’s Christmas Dinner
Tis the season...well, not quite, but we are starting to plan the annual Women’s Christmas dinner scheduled for December 3rd, and we’d love to have some new members on the planning committee. This is not a big time commitment, but it is a great opportunity to get to know some new women and help out with this much-anticipated festive gathering. See Harriet Coughlin, Shannon Hawk or Karen Montgomery if you’re interested.
Do You Love Babies?
The nursery is in need of at least four more regular volunteers. Currently, we have sixteen men and women who care for our little ones on a rotating basis, which means 2-3 times per quarter. If we have just a few more helpers who are willing to love these children (and their parents) by volunteering during Sunday School or worship, we could spread the frequency out. Please consider joining this team, and be prepared for a lot of hugs, book-reading, playing and fun! Childcare clearances are required for all volunteers, but they’re free and easy to apply for. See Mary Oles, Marlena MacPherson or Ali Richwine with questions or to sign up. Thank you!
