A prayer group meets at Providence Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM in Room 1.   All are welcomed and encouraged to come and pray for individual needs, and the needs of our church, our community, and our nation.

Women

Weekly Craft Group

Ladies—Do you enjoy fellowship while working on a craft project?  A group of women meet weekly on Tuesdays from 1-3 and the 2nd Tuesday evening of each month at 7:00, here at the church, and they welcome newcomers.  Just bring that half-finished sweater or the scrapbook you’ve wanted to complete for years and join in the comradery.  You do not need to be a member of our church to join us.

Mom’s Morning Out

Save the date! A Mom’s Fellowship Event is planned for Saturday, March 23rd from 9-11 AM. Moms of Providence are invited to this fun event at church to fellowship with other women. Childcare and baked goods will be provided. Please direct questions and RSVP to Jamilah Gregory. If you would like to help with the event please let Jamilah know. The more the merrier!"

Weekly Bible Study

We are excited to be offering two Bible studies for women, one which meets during the day and the other in the evening. Pick the one that works best for you, or come to both!
The daytime group meets weekly on Thursdays from 9:15-11:00 AM. They are using Courtney Doctor’s study, From Garden to Glory. See Shannon Hawk with questions.
The Friday evening group meets weekly from 7-8:30 PM and is studying NavPress’ LifeChange series, The Book of Ephesians. They would love to have you join them!  Contact Kathy Hassinger with questions.

Changing Hands

Have you been wondering what to do with medical  equipment your family is no  longer using? Are you in need of a wheelchair or walker? United Cerebral Palsy of Central Pennsylvania has a reuse program called Changing Hands. Manual wheelchairs, shower seats and benches, over-bed tables, walker, canes, lift chairs, raised toilet seats and portable ramps are being accepted. Because of limited space they cannot accept hospital beds or stair glides. All items must be in good to excellent condition. Changing Hands will clean the items and make them available to people who need them. If you have questions about obtaining items or would like to arrange to drop off items at our Camp Hill location, please call 717-737-3477 or email atucp@ucpcentralpa.org.

Fun Way to Give

Human Life Services (HLS) is a "life affirming Christ-centered pregnancy care organization, serving York through medical services, peer counseling, education, and community referrals." Would you like to help this ministry in a fun and easy way? Pick up a baby bottle in the back of the narthex (one per family) and fill it with loose change and/or bills. Return the bottle to the church by February 17th. All proceeds from the  collection will go directly to HLS to support their work (www.humanlifeservices.org.).

In the event of snow

Changes to the Sunday morning schedule will be posted on our website and on the PPC Family Facebook page, as well  as on the WGAL website.

Church Work Day

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 30th from 8 AM—12 Noon for our next church work day. A list of tasks will be published prior to the event, and we’d love  to have a great turn-out. Many hands make light work!  Please see a deacon if you have questions or project suggestions.

Refuge Ministries

An important element of our goal to come alongside of survivors of domestic abuse is Refuge Ministries. We are currently holding weekly support groups for women and men, here at Providence, and welcome others to join us and find healing and redemption from oppression. Do you know someone who would benefit from participating in these weekly support groups? Please see Vince or Karen for more information.

Do You Love Babies?

The nursery is in need of at least four more regular volunteers. Currently, we have sixteen men and women who care for our little ones on a rotating basis, which means 2-3 times per quarter. If we have just a few more helpers who are willing to love these children (and their parents) by volunteering during Sunday School or worship, we could spread the frequency out. Please consider joining this team, and be prepared for a lot of hugs, book-reading, playing and fun!  Childcare clearances are required for all volunteers, but they’re free and easy to apply for. See Mary Oles or Marlena MacPherson with questions or to sign up. Thank you!

Lost & Found

If you misplaced something and cannot find it, maybe you left it at     Providence! We have two baskets full of items that have been left behind. Stop by on your way out today and check out the treasures!
