Spring Yard Sale

The Spring Church Yard Sale is scheduled for May 11th!
Please take this opportunity to clean out your closets, basements, attics, garages and in some cases, your storage units, to bless others and make more space for yourself.
Each year we get a huge number of people who look forward to coming and buying items at great prices and being loved on by members of our church. The purpose of the Yard Sale is to raise money for short-term missions and it is also a wonderful time of fun and fellowship for participants.
Starting Sunday, May 5th, you may start bringing donations to the church. We will also need volunteers to help in many ways, so click here to volunteer for the needs listed below:

1. Sunday, May 5th — set-up after the 10:30 AM service
2. May 5th to 10th — unpacking, pricing & displaying items throughout the week
3. Saturday, May 11th from 7 AM—2 PM — assisting and checking out customers
4. Saturday, May 11th@2PM — tearing-down and packing up remaining items for donation to Community Aid
5. Putting your amazing culinary talents to use by making baked goods
6. Providing items for the Hot Dog Stand
7. Staffing the Bake Sale table and Hot Dog stands (money is collected separately)
We are part of the amazing body of Christ and it is our hope that everyone will volunteer to be a part of the Yard Sale in some way. Let’s make it a family project.  We will have sign-up sheets in the narthex.
Thank you in advance for your willingness to make this the best Yard Sale possible.

Prayer Warriors

A prayer group meets at Providence Thursday evenings at 6:30 PM in Room 1.   All are welcomed and encouraged to come and pray for individual needs, and the needs of our church, our community, and our nation.

Nursery

The Nursery Committee is in the process of making some exciting updates to our church nursery. The rooms having been freshly painted, we are now ready to install new       storage, seating and shelving; organize learning and play areas; and purchase new toys and books for our youngest members. Would you like to take part in this transformation? An Amazon wish list has been created and we invite you to check it out and purchase an item of your choosing. Please call or email the church office and we’ll send you the link. A hard copy of the list can be picked up in the narthex. If you prefer to make a monetary donation, just be sure to note “Nursery Project’ on the memo line or envelope. See Robin Wood or Karen Montgomery with questions. Thank you!

CPR Training

The staff at Providence will be taking a life-saving class on Tuesday, May 21st from 9 AM to 12 noon. The training will be focused on CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and the use of our AED (Automated External Defibrillator), and is open to anyone who is interested in participating. The cost is $30/person and checks can be made payable to Providence (note “CPR/AED Class” in memo line).  Please call or email the church if you plan to join us as we must have a count in advance. Thank you.

This year we will be going to Hanover, PA from August 3-9 to help our sister church Hanover Valley PCA with their community VBS called "Kids Fest." Hanover has developed a VBS ministry over the last 20 years that now brings in 600+ registrations from the community. As a result, they are always looking for quality volunteers, and that’s where we come in. This trip is open to everyone in grades 6-12. We hope that you will consider joining us! See Noah for details.

Weekly Craft Groups

Ladies—Do you enjoy fellowship while working on a craft project?  A group of women meet weekly on Tuesdays from 1-3 and the 2nd Tuesday evening of each month at 7:00, here at the church, and they welcome newcomers.  Just bring that half-finished sweater or the scrapbook you’ve wanted to complete for years and join in the comradery.  You do not need to be a member of our church to join us.

Women’s Weekly Bible Studies

We are excited to be offering two Bible studies for women, one which meets during the day and the other in the evening. Pick the one that works best for you, or come to both! They both meet here at Providence.
The daytime group meets weekly on Thursdays from 9:15-11:00 AM. They are using Courtney Doctor’s study, From Garden to Glory. See Shannon Hawk with questions.
The Friday evening group meets the 2nd and 4th Friday of the month from 7-8:30 PM and is reading through the book My Utmost for His Highest. They would love to have you join them!  Contact Kathy Hassinger with questions.

Refuge Ministries

An important element of our goal to come alongside of survivors of domestic abuse is Refuge Ministries. We are currently holding weekly support groups for women and men, here at Providence, and welcome others to join us and find healing and redemption from oppression. Do you know someone who would benefit from participating in these weekly support groups? Please see Vince or Karen for more information.

Lost & Found

If you misplaced something and cannot find it, maybe you left it at Providence! Stop by the table in front of the office on your way out today, and check out the treasures!

Love books??

LifePath has an exciting new opportunity to volunteer that is open to all — no orientation required! On May 30th - June 1st, LifePath will host their Annual Book Sale at York College of PA. This book sale is a wonderful fundraiser for the ministry and we could use your help!
Book Sorters are needed to help comb through the donated books and sort them into categories to ready them for our sale (Mondays & Thursdays, 9 AM  to  2 PM). Without these sorters, this book sale would not be possible! Please note:  Volunteers must be able to lift 40 pounds or more. To sign up, go to go.iamlifepath.org.
