Our teenagers have hit upon a novel idea to reach out to the surrounding community. They've scheduled a series of the Traveling Car Wash!
Weeks before the event, CREW distributes flyers throughout a section of the community surrounding Providence. Then, on the day of the event, they visit homes, and driveways, where they wash the homeowners cars at no charge. Car owners supply the water but CREW brings everything else: soap, sponges, drying cloths, hose, nozzles...everything!
The teenagers have a chance to work together, chat with neighbors, and provide a needed, and welcome, service to the community. There's no charge for the Traveling Car Wash, but car owners are free to donate to the CREW 2007 mission trip to Fairmont, West Virginia. On May 19, CREW collected over $400 in donation for their worthy services... and that included the $.56 from that yellow battery-operated kiddie SUV!
