July 30th will be our next Bring a Friend Sunday! As a church, we believe that everyone is made in God’s image and therefore is valued by Him. Providence is such a loving church, so we want our family, friends, and co-workers to taste something of that love. What better way to do that than to invite them to church where they will   experience the warmth of Providence fellowship, as well as hear the Good News (perhaps for the first time)?  We’ll also share a meal afterwards, giving us an opportunity to make meaningful connections. It is here that our vision will be visible and active:  Engaging with people who are new to us, Equipping each other to love and serve Jesus Christ, and Empowering one another to own and expand our ministries. Please sign up to let us know you’re coming to lunch. For details contact Lyn Mitchell.

Ways to Connect and Grow

The PCA Foundation (PCAF) is offering a free devotional book on generosity in the church.  There are several copies on our bookshelf if you are interested in having one.  This devotional booklet is also available on-line at https://pcafoundation.com/berefreshed/?utm_source=PCAF+Donor+Emails&utm_campaign=fcf9a41041-BeRefreshed+Devotional+%28Donors+20170718%29&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_efee680109-fcf9a41041-208669569

3 New Small Groups!

Have you had an “aha!” moment?  We’ve experienced plenty of these moments in our lives, but in Kyle Idleman’s book, AHA, he analyzes how we can experience one in our spiritual lives. The College and Career Small Group is reading Idleman’s book, looking for ways to apply his ideas to our own lives, so that through Scripture, we can draw closer to God and experience the “AHA” moment!  The College and Career Small Group meets on Thursday evenings from 6-9 PM at various members’ homes.  Contact Andrea Denning for information.

A discussion of Max Lucado’s book, Cast of Characters will be meeting on the last Friday of each month at the home of various members.  See weekly information for location and time.  Please contact Doug or Nancy Dickey for more information.

The Sleepy Hollow Small Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the month at the home of Jay and Kathy Hassinger.  Until the group decides what direction they would like to take, You Tube videos by Ravi Zacharias are being viewed and discussed.  Contact the Hassingers for more information.

Women's Ministry

Ladies Prayer Partner Ministry  Ladies you are invited to become part of an exciting new ministry at Providence. The Women’s Ministry Team has designed a 10 month prayer guide that is refreshing and easy to follow. This guide focuses on the attributes of God through scripture readings, time of adoring our great God, and making your requests known to Him.  Along with your prayer partner, you can grow in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ and get to know another lady in our fellowship through a self- initiated time of sharing and caring.  There are no ridged guidelines established for you.  Our prayer is that you would enjoy the lessons taught to you by the Holy Spirit, and grow in friendship and Christian care for another lady at Providence.  In the next few weeks more information will be available for you to sign up.  Please prayerfully consider this opportunity which will begin in September.  If you have any questions please contact Denise Denning.

Ladies—Are you looking for some good company while working on a craft project?  A group of women meet weekly on Tuesdays from 1-3 here at the church, and they welcome newcomers.  Just bring that half-finished sweater or the scrapbook you’ve wanted to complete for years and join them for a great time of fellowship.

Ministry Opportunity for ladies who crochet:  The Women’s Ministry team would like to share an opportunity. The York County Prison has crochet classes on Monday morning for the lady inmates.  Would you be willing to use your talents once or twice a month, to help teach these ladies?  It is a wonderful time to share the love of Jesus. Security clearances are required.  If you are interested please talk to Shannon Hawk or Harriet Coughlin.

The Women's Ministry Team meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM here at the church building. Any woman who attends Providence is welcome to attend these meetings. As a woman you are inherently a part of the women's ministry, therefore we welcome your input and suggestions. Please contact Denise Denning for more information.
